One day, Mark was alone, Walking down the street, he was happy because his job made some arrangements and had him promoted. He was so happy he didn't even saw what was coming for him.
As he turned around, it was too late. The mugger had his knife through his stomach, they were freaking out, both of them. As the last bit of Mark's consiousness slipped away, the mugger took everything in Mark's possesion, including his new stuff and wallet. Right as the mugger was running away, he gasped and passed out.

As Mark woke up, a deep voice seemed to be talking to him.
-Guys!, he woke up!
A bunch of people ran at him, including two police officers and the remaining paramedic. The sheriff says:
-Hey, how are you feeling man?, You got a pretty nasty stab wound on your belly.
The other officer says as the sheriff stops talking:
-Mind telling us what happened?
Mark starts explaining on how he got mugged and stabbed by an unknown guy.
Paramedic says as he packs all of his equipment:
-Okay, you're all patched up, take care of that, also, i'd recommend some painkillers.
As Mark stands up, the sheriff points to a girl and says:
-You might want to talk to her, after all, she found you.
Mark replies:
-Right away. Thanks.
As Mark walks up to her, he gets the sensation of a known face, but does not recall from where or when. He says:
-Hey, i wanted to thank you for saving my life a while back.
-No problem. She gasps, and then she mumbles as Mark was leaving: -Wait!, i found this a few feet away from your passed out body.
She hands over a lottery ticket, Mark does not remember buying a lottery ticket, and the nearest gas station is 3 blocks away. And so he says:
-Okay, Thanks.

He never saw the girl again.

3 weeks have gone by, The police has no clue of who the killer might be, not even a single hair on the scene of the mugging, Mark was really depressed, as that knife was infected with some sort of bacteria which infected the wound, even after cleansing it. The doctor appointments were regular now, He was officially going through the roughest part of his life. And the only thing he'd think of is the lottery ticket, Its randomness and lack of finger prints made it all really weird.

The day of the lottery numbers' reveal had came, and the numbers were a complete match. He had just won $800.000, He thought that it was all worth it, A week had gone by, he had cashed his prize and a call came in, it was the police, they explained that his mugger was caught, bleeding out on an alley, not far from the mugging scene, then he discovered that he had been stabbed by his own knife!,
As the former cop said that, it all came in order, he knew, from that moment that the lottery ticket fell of the mugger's pocket as he was running away from the crime scene.
Mark, when he thought this throughly, he came to realise that karma CAN come and bite you right in the butt.
